The following information and pictures come from a newspaper article that my Grandfather had hanging on his wall for many years. I didn't pay any attention to it until sometime in the spring of 1998 when my Dad showed it to me because of my new-found interest in homebrewing. My Grandfather made homemade wine and his father made homemade beer and wine. My dad isn't interesting in homebrewing at all. My interest hit me in the spring of 1997. So you can see that brewing is truely in my blood.
My Great,Great,Great,Great (not sure how many Greats are in there) Grandpa came over from Germany and started a brewery in Cambridge City, Indiana. As of right now I am not sure of the exact dates when he came over and started the brewery but I do know that it closed just after the turn of the century. Here is the original text from the newspaper article

Here is a picture of the brewery cellar.
In a brewery cellar are, from left to right, Charles Ingermann, Henry Ingermann, Charles Swim.

The raised lettering has been covered in chaulk to show the letters. The text on the bottles is: H.Ingermann's XXX Ale Cambridge City, IN
