Stout & Creamale

Batches 49 & 50 (11-28-99) pg.2

Kettles3

Here is a picture of both of my kettles in action. The little one (Brewer's Resource 9.75 gallon) is the cream ale and the large one (PolarWare 15 gallon) is the stout.

Chilling batch #50

This is a good shot of the immersion chiller in action.

Racking batch #50

Here we are racking the cream ale to a 7 gallon carboy.

#49 Carboy 1

This is the stout just after the yeast has been pitched. I used Wyeast 1318 in this batch.

#49 Carboy 2

Here is the stout the next day. WOW!! Explosive fermentation. Notice the airlock filled with blowoff. I let it go without a blowoff tube and it blewoff about a quart or so when it was all done.

#49 Carboy 3

Another shot of the blowoff.

#49 Carboy 4

And yet another shot of the blowoff.
